Strength and Courage.

I’m watching the #Sambha attack news over and over again on the Television. They report the same things over and over again, but instead of annoying me with their non-stop high-pitched fact-repeating in-genuine act, this time they have me glued in rapt attention.

A close friend is posted in the same Army Cantt, and though her husband is (thankfully) not a part of the attacked unit, I can imagine her state of mind at the moment only too well. I was in a station near by not very long ago and this brutal attack that
has killed several jawans and officers, including a Lt. Colonel, will
have long side effects on me for sure.

Not very long ago, when
I was writing the story of an Army-Wife, I had to pick a place for a
fictional encounter, and I picked Sambha without giving it a second
thought because –

a.) I knew this Army station well enough to be writing about it, and
b.) because
terror activities are on a minimum there (or that’s what I was told),
except for the obvious cross-border firings that one sees on the TV
channels and the army wives learn to get used to it after a while.

Someone texted me saying my book just got topical and I could only
shiver in response.

It is straight out of my book, only, it is unfortunately bigger in magnitude.
I don’t understand terrorism. I can’t come to terms
with the fact that anyone, anywhere can decide to blow people up. And
how do you deal with fear?

Being an #ArmyWife
is a tough job, it requires loads and shit-loads of strength and
courage. My prayers with the wives of brave soldiers who lost their lives fighting
today.

Rest in Peace.

Being a loved partner of someone serving duty is definitely not easy. Not only is there the constant fear and uneasiness but relationships themselves can get strained – sigh.
